Harley completed her first 200hr intensive teacher training in Tantric Hatha Yoga at Blue Osa in Costa Rica in 2016 after she had only been practicing yoga for just over a year. Her passion for practice was evident early on, and she quickly took to the Ashtanga Yoga Method as her daily routine. She has studied extensively at home and around the world, delighting in taking frequent visits to India, California, and Costa Rica for yoga immersion and self-exploration, dedicating her life to being a forever student. She has done hundreds of hours worth of continuing education while assisting teacher trainings, attending workshops, and going on yearly retreats with her teachers. Harley also hosts annual international yoga retreats with her friend and colleague, Alexandros Liatsos.
Her yoga-related, educational achievements also include completion of a 300hr intensive teacher training with Jared McCann at Lighthouse Yoga in Brooklyn along with the Foundations of Yoga Therapy program through Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy.
Harley is the owner of Fox Dog Yoga, a community gathering space on Long Island, NY, developed on her vision of a "one-stop-shop" for unique, wholistic experiences, authentic and traditional yoga, good food, good music, and good times. Although many people think the studio is Harley's full-time job, she also works as a social worker on an inpatient psychiatric unit, as well as in private practice as a clinical talk therapist, empowering her belief in an emphasis on mental health, self-care, and a well-balanced, mindfully lived life. Harley has a Master's degree in Social Work from Adelphi University, where she learned that each person's life experience is based on a combination of their own bio, psycho, social, and spiritual history. She bases her teaching on these principles and makes it her goal to support you, as an individual, in finding your own strength and power to heal, grow, and thrive.
